Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 3” isn’t just the highest grossing animated film of all time, but it’s now crossing the $1 billion mark today (Friday, Aug. 27). They’re playing with the big toys now. “Alice in Wonderland” also passed $1 bil for the studio this year. [Disney]

The problem with “The Karate Kid” reboot is that Jaden Smith wasn’t performing karate, but kung fu (being in China and all). Problem solved for the sequel since “Kung Fu Panda” scribes will take a crack at it. Cuz that movie was all sorts of accurate. [Heat Vision]

“Underground” will be a new horror thriller by Neil Marshall that centers on a young chef “who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine.” Will he possibly be serving underbelly? [Deadline]

Who’s bigger than the Oscars? The award goes to … the NFL. If the league adds two more games to the regular season, the Academy Awards could be bumped to a Monday night, where the awards show used to live before 1999. [Variety]

Here’s a reason to embrace the “Spider-Man” reboot. It could be one of the first 3-D films you won’t have to wear those cumbersome but stylish glasses to watch. [AP]
