Season 3 of HBO’s hit, “True Blood,” is just getting started and already the network has announced that it has renewed the show for a fourth season.
“The new season of ‘True Blood’ is off to a terrific start,” says HBO Programming President, Michael Lombardo. “As enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics, we’re looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year.”
The network has ordered 12 new episodes, which will begin production in early-2011 in Los Angeles and air later that summer.
“I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew,” says creator and executive producer, Alan Ball. “This is the most fun I have ever had.”
The third-season premiere of the HBO series drew 5.1 million viewers on Sunday, June 13 — a big improvement over the 3.7 million who tuned into the Season 2 premiere last summer. So, we’re sure the network is banking that Season 4’s ratings will continue to kill.
