In the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Friday (April 15), “True Blood” star Stephen Moyer clocked the No. 1 qualifying time among the celebrity drivers – and then crashed into a tire barrier on the first turn after his qualifying lap and rolled his car, reports the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
Thankfully, Moyer walked away unhurt, though his No. 14 Scion tC was quite worse for the wear. By posting the top celeb time, Moyer won the 14th annual People Pole Award and $15,000 for Racing for Kids, which raises money via this event every year for children’s hospitals in Long Beach and Orange County.
For the race Saturday, Moyer says, “I think I’ll be taking it easy. We’ll see. I’m
looking forward to it, but I’m definitely going to take that first
corner easy and see what happens after that.”
Other celebrities taking part include Frankie Muniz, William Fichtner, Kevin Jonas, Michael Trucco, Kim Coates, Dijimon Hounsou, Jillian Barberie Reynolds, Megyn Price, Tito Ortiz and Brian Austin Green, who as the defending celebrity champion races as a “pro” this year.
