ryan seacrest idol season 9 320 TV ratings: 'American Idol' drops, still dominates TuesdayFast National ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010

“American Idol’s” Chicago auditions didn’t produce very many Hollywood-bound singers, and the show didn’t produce ratings as large as last week’s shows either.

FOX still easily won the night, however, with 17.6 million viewers and a 9.8 rating/15 share in households. CBS, despite airing a night of reruns, still managed 12 million viewers and a 7.7/12. NBC (8.7 million, 5.2/8) came in third. ABC (3.1 million, 2.1/3) was a distant fourth, while another night of reruns on The CW (748,000, 0.5/1) brought up the rear.

The adults 18-49 demographic also went to FOX, which scored a 6.7 rating. NBC, 3.4, finished second, a point ahead of CBS’ 2.4. ABC (1.0) and The CW (0.3) were weak.
