“American Idol” rebounded some Wednesday from its low numbers last week, rising by a couple tenths of a point in adults 18-49 and gaining about half a million viewers. The show kept FOX on top of the ratings, per usual.

Also Tuesday, “Criminal Minds” and “CSI” both improved on their numbers from last week for CBS, and “Nashville” was up a little for ABC. The Alphabet’s comedies, however, didn’t fare as well: “Suburgatory,” “Modern Family” and “How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)” all dropped from a week ago, although “Family” once again beat “Idol” in adults 18-49 in their shared half-hour.

FOX drew just under 12 million viewers and a 7.4 rating/12 share in households for the night, beating out CBS’ 10.5 million and 6.7/11 for the lead. ABC (7.1 million, 4.6/7) finished third. NBC was fourth with 4.1 million viewers and a 2.9/5. The CW (1.4 million, 0.8/1) trailed.

The order stayed the same in the adults 18-49 demographic, with FOX’s 3.2 rating finishing on top. CBS took second with a 2.6, followed by ABC at 2.3. NBC averaged 1.0 in the demo and The CW 0.4.
