ratings jan 25 friday hells kitchen gordon ramsay fox TV ratings: CBS repeats win the night, while 'Kitchen Nightmares' grows

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 26, 2013.

Most Friday-night shows were in repeats this week, but that didn’t stop CBS from taking a win over its rivals. Even new fare on FOX and The CW couldn’t compete with their rival’s rerun domination.

Even with this win, however, ratings were down almost across the board on the networks. Without original programming (other than news programming), CBS, NBC and ABC all lost numbers from the week before. The CW did get a slight uptick during the 9pm hour, when slightly more viewers tuned in for a “Carrie Diaries” repeat than had watched a “Beauty and the Beast” rerun a week earlier.

FOX had the lone real gain of the night, thanks to a new “Kitchen Nightmares” facing off against pretty much nothing. The show posted a 0.5 million gain in ratings over the series finale of “Fringe” the week before.

CBS won the night with an average of 7.4 million viewers and a 4.9/8 share in households. NBC (5 million viewers, 3.3/5 households) narrowly edged out ABC (4.7 million viewers, 3.0/5 households) for second place. FOX trailed with only 3.5 million viewers (2.2/4 households), and The CW barely registered with 1.2 million viewers and 0.8/1 households.

In the 18-49 demo, ABC, NBC and FOX tied at 1.2, with CBS following at 1.1. The CW again brought up the rear with only 0.4.
