dwts 18 premiere rtgs TV ratings: 'Dancing With the Stars' premiere down, 'The Voice' and 'Blacklist' rise MondayFast National ratings for Monday, March 17, 2014

The return of “Dancing With the Stars” Monday helped ABC lead the night in total viewers, but it was down from both its fall premiere earlier this season and last spring’s debut. It did, however, give a boost to “Castle,” which scored its best numbers in six weeks.

Also Monday, “The Voice” and “The Blacklist” each improved on their last original broadcasts to give NBC an easy win among adults 18-49 for the night. “How I Met Your Mother” also rose for CBS, but “Bones” and “The Following” dipped for FOX. The move of “The Tomorrow People” to Monday gave The CW a bump over former time-slot occupant “Beauty and the Beast.”

ABC averaged 13.3 million viewers and an 8.5 rating/13 share in households in primetime, beating out NBC’s 12.6 million and 7.6/12 for the overall lead. CBS (6.7 million, 4.3/7) came in third. FOX (4.8 million, 3.1/5) came in fourth, and The CW (1.1 million, 0.8/1) trailed.

NBC’s 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic was far and away the best of the night. ABC took second with a 2.2. CBS came in third at 1.8, followed by FOX, 1.4, and The CW, 0.4.
