NBC got a solid debut from its new series “Harry’s Law” on Monday night, winning the 10 o’clock hour in total viewers. “The Cape” stumbled some in its regular timeslot, however, and NBC was left in its usual fourth-place spot overall for the evening, while CBS finished on top.

The first football-free Monday of the season didn’t make much difference in the ratings for the broadcast networks. CBS was up slightly compared to the last time it had originals on Jan. 3, winning the night with 11.7 million viewers and a 7.2 rating/11 share in households. The return of “House” helped FOX (8.3 million, 4.9/7) take second. ABC (7.7 million, 5.1/8) and NBC (7.7 million, 4.7/7) finished in a near tie for third place; ABC leads by 7,000 viewers at the moment. The CW (862,000, 0.5/1) was a non-factor.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS’ 3.5 rating easily grabbed the top spot. FOX finished second in the demo with a 2.7. ABC, 2.3., came in third, while NBC was fourth at 2.0. The CW drew a 0.3.
