The short program in women’s figure skating Wednesday helped NBC’s Winter Olympics ratings improve some on the previous night, although it was off a bit in adults 18-49 compared to the same night of the 2010 games.

Per usual, though, NBC’s numbers were far and away the best of the night. “American Idol” was about even with its performance Tuesday but came in below its season average. “Super Fun Night” ended its season on ABC with a series low in the 18-49 demographic, and CBS’ “Criminal Minds” and “CSI” dipped as well.

NBC delivered 20.1 million viewers and a 12.2 rating/19 share in households in primetime. FOX (9.9 million, 6.0/9) finished second. CBS took third with 8.4 million viewers and a 5.5/9. ABC (2.9 million, 2.0/3) came in fourth, and The CW (888,000, 0.6/1) trailed.

NBC scored a 5.0 rating in the 18-49 demo, almost doubling the 2.6 for second-place FOX. CBS came in third with a 1.8, followed by ABC, 0.8, and The CW, 0.3.
