ncaa march 23 kansas TV Ratings: 'Supernatural,' 'Fringe' hit series lows opposite basketballFast National ratings for Friday, March 23, 2012

Please note that due to live broadcasts of the NCAA Tournament games on Friday night, the numbers for CBS will likely change significantly once ratings have been adjusted. Still, the NCAA Tournament games have once again won the night for CBS (though producing lower ratings than CBS’ usual original fare) on a very soft Friday.

Other content has held steady; the highly anticipated return of Misha Collins to The CW’s “Supernatural” failed to boost ratings opposite the basketball — in fact, both “Supernatural” and FOX’s “Fringe” fell to series/season lows in the key demographic.

CBS averaged 6.5 million viewers, with a 4.0 rating/7 share in households. ABC followed with 5.5 million viewers and a
3.7/6. NBC had a boost over last week at 4.4 million viewers, 3.0/5, with FOX at 2.9
million, 1.9/3. The CW trailed at 1.5 million, 1.0/2.

In the 18-49 adults demographic, CBS won an average of 2.2, followed by ABC’s 1.6, FOX’s 1.0, NBC at 0.9 and
the CW at 0.5.
