surviving jack premiere ratings march 27 TV ratings: 'Surviving Jack' premiere soft; CBS wins with Sweet 16 NCAA gamesFast National ratings for Thursday, March 27, 2014

The NCAA tournament on CBS saw a rise from the round of 64 games, earning an average of nearly 4 million more viewers than last week, though ABC’s “Scandal” was still the top show of the night by a slim margin in total viewers and a wider margin in the adults 18-49 demo.

Elsewhere, “Surviving Jack” did not have an overly strong premiere on FOX, losing 2.8 million viewers from its “American Idol” lead-in. On NBC, despite two hours of reruns preceding it, “Parenthood” posted its best numbers since early October.

The Sweet 16 games on CBS earned the Eye a win in total viewers, averaging 7.8 million and a 5.0 rating/8 share in households. ABC was second with 6.8 million and a 4.6/8, followed by FOX (5.9 million, 3.6/6), NBC (4.3 million, 2.8/5) and The CW (1.6 million, 1.1, 2).

In the adults 18-49 demographic, the order was the same: CBS was tops with 2.5, followed by ABC (2.2), FOX (1.7), NBC (1.2) and The CW (0.7).
