katharine mcphee smash TV ratings: 'The Voice' gets a Super Bowl bump, 'Smash' opens well and NBC wins MondayFast National ratings for Monday, Feb. 6, 2012

The time-period premiere of “The Voice” Monday night got a good post-Super Bowl bump, recording its biggest audience ever for a regularly scheduled episode. The lead-in also helped the premiere of “Smash” win its time period at 10 p.m., giving NBC its first non-Olympics sweep of a Monday night in more than three years.

Elsewhere, FOX’s “Alcatraz” took a hit in the face of the heavier competition, and “Two and a Half Men” and “Mike & Molly” were also somewhat below average for CBS. “The Bachelor” was steady for ABC, but “Castle” was down from its last original episode.

NBC averaged 15.6 million viewers and a 9.1 rating/14 share in households in primetime, beating second-place CBS (10.8 million, 6.7/10) by close to 5 million viewers. ABC (8.4 million, 5.5/8) finished third. FOX took fourth with 7 million viewers and a 4.2/6, while The CW (1.4 million, 1.0/1) was even with last week.

NBC similarly ruled the adults 18-49 demographic, scoring a 5.7 rating. CBS came in second with a 3.5. ABC’s 2.4 edged FOX’s 2.3 for third place. The CW came in at 0.6.
