The return of “The Voice” and “Revolution” gave NBC a needed ratings boost Monday night, carrying the network to a victory among adults 18-49.

“The Voice” was up half a point over its fall premiere (although down from its Super Bowl-fueled midseason debut last year), and “Revolution” avoided the steep fall-off that some other dramas that took long breaks suffered in recent years. It was in line with its last few episodes of the fall, although it did fall off a good amount in its second half-hour.

Also Monday, “Dancing With the Stars” came down some from its premiere last week, although it still helped ABC win the night in total viewers. The increased competition also pushed “The Following” and “The Carrie Diaries” below their averages.

ABC brought in 12.95 million viewers and an 8.3 rating/13 share in households in primetime. NBC (11.3 million, 6.6/10) was a solid second. CBS (7.8 million, 4.8/7) finished third. FOX came in fourth with 6.7 million viewers and a 4.1/6, and The CW was way off the pace with about 680,000 viewers and a 0.5/1.

NBC easily led the 18-49 demographic with a 4.0 rating. CBS (2.4) won a tight race for second over ABC (2.2) and FOX (2.1). The CW trailed with a 0.3.
