2014 olympics feb 23 rtgs TV ratings: Winter Olympics close on low note, Daytona 500 boosts FOX SundayFast National ratings for Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014

The 2014 Winter Olympics went out with a whimper in terms of ratings, as the closing ceremony from Sochi delivered some of NBC’s lowest numbers of the past two-plus weeks. A preview of “Growing Up Fisher” that started at 10:36 p.m. ET looks as though it will come in more or less where “About a Boy” did on Saturday.

Also Sunday, a long rain delay pushed the Daytona 500 into primetime on FOX and gave the network a ratings bump as a result. Opposite the two sports telecasts, “The Amazing Race” had its weakest premiere ever.

NBC drew 13.5 million viewers and an 8.0 rating/13 share in households for the night. FOX currently sits in second with 6.3 million viewers and a 3.8/6, pending updates for the live telecast. CBS (5.5 million, 3.5/6) beat out ABC (5.1 million, 3.2/5) for third.

NBC also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.9 rating, beating out FOX’s 2.0. ABC posted a 1.3 and CBS a 1.0.
