world series 1028 gi TV Ratings: World Series a home run for FOXFast national ratings for Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011

By now, it’s hardly a spoiler that the World Series will continue into a Friday (Oct. 28) game 7 — baseball fans are over the moon about the close series and on Thursday they tuned in to watch the sixth match-up between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers, pretty much ignoring the rest of the prime time line-up.

FOX’s World Series coverage led the night in viewers, averaging 19.8 million and a 12.0/19 share in households. CBS finished second with a solid 12 million viewers (7.5/12). Then after a steep drop, ABC drew 8 million viewers (5.0/8), NBC (4.2 million, 2.7/4) came in fourth, topping the CW (2.7 million, 1.8/3).

The adults 18-49 demographic was a total win for FOX, too, with a whopping 5.8 rating. CBS took second with 3.0, followed by ABC (2.8), NBC (1.7) and The CW 1.2).
