2012 world series game 2 TV ratings: World Series Game 2 can't topple CBS' hold on Thursday nightsFast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012

Not even the World Series could topple CBS’ hold on Thursday nights, plus Game 2 saw a significant drop from Game 1 — over 1.5 million viewers.

On other networks, “The Vampire Diaries” held steady but “Beauty and the Beast” continued to drop, this week earning under 2 million viewers. The NBC comedies and “Rock Center” all saw an uptick in viewers, but the Minnesota NBC affiliates were broadcasting the Vikings game, so the numbers may be slightly inflated.

“Last Resort” also had its weakest numbers to date on arguably the strongest episode since the pilot, so clearly the sports programming was siphoning off ABC and not so much CBS.

The Eye easily won the night with an average of 12.8 million viewers and an 8.0 rating/13 share in households. FOX was second with 9.99 million viewers and a 6.2/10. ABC came in third with 7 million, 4.8/8, followed by NBC at 4.1 million, 2.7/4 and the CW at 2.3 million, 1.5/2.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS won there as well with a 3.1, followed by FOX (2.7), ABC (2.1), NBC (1.6) and the CW (0.9).
