x-factor-s3-finale-rtgs.JPGFast National ratings for Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013

The good news for “The X Factor” finale Thursday was it scored its best Thursday ratings in more than two months. The bad news is that it ended a season that saw heavy ratings losses compared to last year with more of the same — the finale was down 36 percent in viewers and 45 percent in adults 18-49 vs. the final episode of 2012.

Elsewhere Thursday, “The Sing-Off” had its lowest outing thus far this season, dipping a tenth of a point in the 18-49 demographic vs. last week. A “Big Bang Theory” repeat scored the night’s biggest audience by a wide margin, and an encore of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” did pretty well for ABC — topping both singing competitions in their common hour.
