It’s official! Mackenzie Foy, a relatively unknown 9-year-old, has
snagged the role of Renesmee Cullen, daughter of Bella (Kristen Stewart)
and Edward (Robert Pattinson). “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer had
the honor of breaking the big casting news via Facebook.
“She’s an amazing young actress and I’m excited to work with her. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer!” Meyer writes.
]]>“‘Til Death” and “FlashForward,” but she certainly looks like she could be the daughter or Stewart and Pattinson (you know, if they’d gotten started early). It’s not known yet whether she’ll appear in the first part of “Breaking Dawn,” which is set for a November 2011 release, but she’ll certainly be in Part 2, which hits theaters in November 2012. The character of Renesmee undergoes rapid aging to reach full physical maturity by age 7 — when she appears to be 17 years old. She’s the soul mate of Taylor Lautner‘s Jacob Black after he “imprints” on her when she’s just a newborn. Yeah, we’re a little grossed out, too.
