"Harry Potter" fans, meet your new Dark wizard.
Jamie Campbell Bower will play Gellert Grindelwald, a magician and childhood friend of Dumbledore's, in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
In the book, Grindelwald and Dumbledore fall out after the death of Dumbledore's sister and Gellert's turn to the Dark side, though at the end of his life Grindelwald lies to (and is killed by) Voldemort to protect Dumbledore's legacy.
The movie versions of "Deathly Hallows" – comprising two installments due to the book's length — are currently filming in England.
Bower is becoming a veteran of the fantasy genre: In March, Bower signed on to play Caius, leader of the Volturi vampire council, in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon." He also co-starred with Johnny Depp in 2007's "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street."
He'll be joined on "New Moon" by Dakota Fanning — whose vampire elder Jane brings judgment on the forbidden love between teen human Bella (Kristen Stewart) and secret vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) — and Canadian model Noot Seear as Heidi, a so-called "fisher" who captures humans as food for her vampire masters.
