melissa rosenberg jessica jones 'Twilight' screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to helm Netflix's Marvel series 'Jessica Jones'

The new incarnation of Marvel series “Jessica Jones” in development at Netflix is taking a cue from the version that was in development three years ago over at ABC, and has tapped “Twilight” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to helm.

Attached to the new project as writer and executive producer, Rosenberg will work on redeveloping “Jessica Jones” for the online streaming site, Deadline reports. The series will focus on a superhero suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.

“Jessica Jones” is one of four series Marvel TV and ABC TV Studios sold to the streaming giant in a deal announced last week. Slated second for released, “Jessica Jones” will follow the release of “Daredevil,” which is still in talks with “Lost” alum Drew Goddard to come on as writer/executive producer.

The other two Marvel series are “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage,” with the characters from each series then coming together for an “Avengers”-style chapter-closing miniseries, “The Defenders.”
