charlie sheen leaving Report: 'Two and a Half Men': Charlie Sheen leaving show one man short?Man down!

Charlie Sheen may be leaving CBS’ “Two and a Half Men” after the April 9 taping, according to People.

Sheen, who is currently the highest paid actor on television with a salary of an estimated $825,000 per episode, is facing domestic violence charges after a Christmas Day altercation with his wife Brooke Mueller.

On Feb 24, Sheen began a rehab program. He has been taping episodes and returning to rehab each night after work. People’s source says “Charlie’s just done, and he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.” As for contract negotiations, they are “ongoing and nothing has been determined.”

A representative for Sheen only offered the following statement: “Charlie’s deal is only through this current season.” There’s no word yet on whether the show’s writers plan to explain Charlie’s exit in the season finale.

[UPDATE]: TMZ is by no means convinced that Sheen will walk away from the show. In fact, they say he’s still negotiating a salary of about $1.5 mil per episode, while Warner Bros. is trying to keep it down to $1 mil. All of this will supposedly come to a head nearer to May upfronts, when the networks decide what’s on deck for the upcoming season.
