UPDATE: The video of Vince Gill at the funeral has been removed. Above is audio of Gill singing the same song. We’ll post video from the funeral as soon as the Opry makes it available.

Country legend George Jones was laid to rest Thursday (May 2) in Nashville, Tenn., after a star-studded music-filled tribute at the Grand Ole Opry as part of his funeral services.

One of the many highlights was Vince Gill and Patty Loveless performing “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” Gill was so overcome with emotion he could barely sing, which is something that always gets our tearducts working. They received a huge ovation after the performance.

Watch the video above. Did you tune into the funeral on TV or online? It was a beautiful service for one of the greats of country music.
