KXNet – Bismarck/Minot/Williston/Dickinson

Will Ferrell has seemingly been everywhere lately promoting his new movie “Anchorman 2: THe Legend Continues” — in character as Ron Burgundy, naturally. He recently did an appearance on “Conan” that was nothing short of hilarious and now he has tried his hand at an actual news anchor gig.

In the above video, Burgundy joins KXNews anchor Amber Schatz for a broadcast on the CBS affiliate in Bismarck, ND — “Amber, you look lovely tonight. … Are you married? Well, I am so don’t get any ideas,” he begins.

The anchors relay a story about a Sheriff’s deputy who is catching local speeders in Amidon — known for its fairgrounds and church — and a hockey fight, among others. The full newscast is worth a watch.

Ferrell is known for these random acts of hilarity, like his 2013 Super Bowl ad or appearing in a local Old Milwaukee commercial in Davenport, IA or North Platte, Neb.

Can you imagine turning on your local network affiliate and seeing Will Ferrell doing the nightly news? Amazing.

“Anchorman 2” opens nationwide Wednesday, Dec. 18.
