For all of us who still haven’t accepted that “The West Wing” is off the air. And have worn out the DVDs of several seasons. And sometimes pretend President Bartlet is real … wait, what? Oh, sorry.

The cast of “The West Wing” has reunited and it feels so good. It all started because Bridget Mary McCormack, the sister of actress Mary McCormack, who played Deputy National Security Adviser Kate Harper on the show’s final three seasons, is running for the Michigan Supreme Court.

The “crisis” in this mini “West Wing” episode is that because the Supreme Court races in Michigan are non-partisan, voters who vote straight-ticket end up not voting in the Supreme Court races.

Bridget tells M Live in an interview that it was her sister Mary’s idea and it “sort of snowballed and all of sudden Martin Sheen signed up and [Bridget] was like ‘Whoa.'”

Bridget also says the video is meant to encourage participation, regardless of what side of the political spectrum you are on.

“It doesn’t even matter what side of the issue you’re on. More of us
should participate. That’s really the only goal – it’s a real public
education goal,” says McCormack.

It’s rather delightful how easily everyone slips back into their “West Wing” roles. And that video may or may not have made us tear up a little. The only way it could have possibly been better is if there was some tiny reference to Josh and Donna being married — and maybe a Rob Lowe appearance.
