Will Cate Blanchett wear Armani for the rest of her natural-born life?
Giorgio Armani has secured his eternal Best Actress red carpet placement by making a sizeable donation (just the largest ever individual gift) to something near and dear to Cate’s heart, the Sydney Theatre Company, where she and her husband Andrew Upton are artistic directors.
Armani came to Sydney for the theatre’s black tie dinner this week, returning the favor after the noticeably pregnant Oscar-winning star of "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and "I’m Not There" attended the opening of his Tokyo boutique last week.
The designer also made an appearance at his Sydney flagship boutique, wearing white sporty shoes, something the Aussie press had a field day with. Click HERE for photos and details. Asked what he liked about Australia, Armani praised the country’s exports, especially Cate Blanchett.
Next he’s heading to watch his other Oscar-winning pal, Russell Crowe, star of "3:10 to Yuma" and "American Gangster," play a football/rugby match with his team, the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Armani at a rough-and-tumble rugby match? Hard to picture. Click HERE for more details on the match.
Hey, maybe he’ll design new uniforms for Russell’s team.
