At least one person is dead certain that Reese Witherspoon is getting an Oscar nod for her “Walk the Line” portrayal of that spunky Southern singer June Carter.

Barbara Walters, accepting the 2005 Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at Tuesday’s Hollywood Reporter annual Women in Entertainment “Power 100” breakfast, looked over at Witherspoon and told the actress that she was just dying to interview her.

Then she pronounced, “I just know you’re going to be nominated! I just know you are!”

Hey, from Walters’ lips to the female entertainment community’s ears.

Literally.

The Beverly Hills Hotel ballroom was packed with supremely powerful Hollywood women and scads of academy voters as well as actresses Natasha Henstridge, Portia de Rossi, Maggie Grace, Brooke Shields and Virginia Madsen.
