Though Woody Allen has kept silent after his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow penned an open letter accusing him of sexually assaulting her as a child, his attorney Elkan Abramowitz appeared on “Today” Tuesday (Feb. 4) to address the allegations.
According to Abramowitz, Allen doesn’t believe Farrow is lying. It is their opinion that she thinks the abuse actually occurred. “The idea that she was molested was implanted in her by her mother [Mia Farrow],” Abramowitz claims. The attorney says Dylan is “a pawn in a huge fight between [Allen] and Mia Farrow years ago.”
Abramowitz maintains that “there is no case” after the accusations were first investigated in 1993. At the time it was determined that Allen didn’t molest Farrow, but that she may have made the story up or been coached by an outside party.
The sex abuse allegations returned to the spotlight during the Golden Globes, where Allen was given a lifetime achievement award. His estranged son Ronan Farrow tweeted, “Missed the Woody Allen tribute – did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after ‘Annie Hall’?”
