alberto del rio twitter statement wwe WWE tweets statement on Alberto Del Rio's release

The story surrounding the release of former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio got a bit more peculiar Friday (Aug. 8). WWE announced they had let Del Rio go Thursday, citing “unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.”
Now, WWE has sent out a two-tweet statement about the dismissal. “[Alberto Del Rio] is responsible for his own actions.  If you’re angry at anyone, be angry at Alberto,” it reads. “There’s no excuse for a pro athlete not to conduct themselves in a professional manner.”
For his part, Del Rio has remained silent on the issue. It’s an odd move by WWE. Though they regularly announce talent leaving the company on their website, it’s rare for further comments to be issued via Twitter.
