Wyclef Jean held a press conference in New York Monday (Jan. 18) to refute accusations that money sent to his Yele Haiti organization is going into his own pockets.
The Haitian-born musician has been in charge of his own relief efforts since the quake last week.
Yele Haiti has raised over $2 million dollars so far. Wyclef has been on the ground in Haiti, helping pull bodies from the rubble. But then the website TheSmokingGun.com presented documents claiming the 12-year-old charity only recently filed tax returns for the years 2005 to 2007.
