It’s dance music week on “The X Factor.”
While it didn’t offer as much excitement Michael Jackson week, there was still a lot of behind-the-scenes intrigue at the singing competition.
Here the best of what happened when the cameras stopped rolling:
Time machine, Part 1: Remember the Brewer Boys? Well we kind of do too. Way back when they were in Paula Abdul’s group before getting voted off. They made a return and enjoyed the show from the wrong side of the stage…the audience.
Who wants to marry a millionaire?: During one of the commercial breaks, Bill (the warm-up guy) attempted to set up an audience member with the beautiful Nicole Scherzinger. The fine, upstanding gentleman asked Nicole to marry him. She smiled and then was saved by the end of the break.
Time machine, Part 2: Rachel Crow’s second grade teacher was in the audience. Awww. When asked what she was like as a youngster, the educator says, “Her smile made a huge difference in my day, every day.” Double awww.
Best sign ever: Someone brought a sign that was actually a dry erase board. This allowed them to change who they rooting for during the show. Fair weather fan or genius?
Mixed signals: After the lead-in package in which Simon Cowell says, “If they want a war, they’re going to get a war,” his fellow judges offered a range of responses. Paula looked surprised. Nicole was more dismissive. L.A. Reid, well, he might not have been paying attention.
Props from the place you’d least expect it: Simon is hardly one to share a compliment. And certainly not for anyone who isn’t on his team. But after the show he went to Twitter to say, “I know he’s not my contestant, but Chris was incredible!”
