kanye west yeezus teaser gi 'Yeezus' leaks in full, but Kanye West gives 'no f***s at all'As the music industry continues to fret over whether album leaks help or hurt sales in the long run, Kanye West is making one thing very clear: He couldn’t care less.

West’s highly anticipated sixth studio album, the humbly titled “Yeezus,” leaked online in its entirety on Friday (June 14), but West himself is likely to blame. At a recent listening party in New York city, where the rapper previewed his latest work in full, he allowed invitees to record and share whatever they felt was worthy.

According to Mashable, West’s label says they “didn’t have any qualms with the music leaking.” At the event, Yeezy even took to the mic and said, “I have this new strategy. It’s called no strategy … This album is about giving. This whole process is all about giving no f***s at all.”

In the making of “Yeezus,” West turned over a new leaf, avoiding previous practices such as limiting the number of people working on the album and protecting stored files on secure external hard drives.

“The whole way this album was put together, the amount of producers that came together for it, and the way we worked on this s*** really collectively, collaboratively, we really didn’t give a f*** what nobody else said — outside looking in or anything. We just wanted to make the best product possible,” West explained at the event.

He’s even avoided standard industry practices to promote sales, including releasing a single to radio. West says his plan for selling music is “called make better music.”

Judging by the Internet frenzy generated by the leak, it’s clear fans have been waiting for this album with bated breath. But will that translate to sales and positive reviews? Time will only tell.

“Yeezus” will be officially released on Tuesday, June 18.
