sheen cap Your choice: Either unfollow Charlie Sheen on Twitter or wallpaper your desktop with art inspired by the winnerWith the filing of his $100 million lawsuit against CBS, the pace has slackened a bit in Charlie Sheen world. That’s not to say the guy is totally off the map. Thursday (March 10) morning Funny or Die released a cooking video starring the chain-smoking Adonis. And we’re sure he’s busy planning his next unexpected move — perhaps a polygamous wedding or a live gladiator-style fight with a real tiger.

Still, here are three stories we’re sure you’ll want to know about (or, if you’re a Village Voice writer, maybe not — see below)

I see a red door and I want to paint it Charlie

Hipsters who want to get in on the Sheen zeitgeist without appearing too obvious may be interested in downloading the free Charlie Sheen desktop wallpaper. It overlays the whole crazy Sheen story with subtle design and, you know, irony. And, fear not, it’s available in a range of sizes for computers, iPads and iPhones. Sorry Droid-ers. Let this be a lesson to you. [The Fox is Black]

Sheen_Team_blog.jpgFriday is ‘Unfollow Charlie Sheen on Twitter Day’

The Village Voice is sick and tired of Sheen and his non-stop winning. So they’re launching an effort asking readers to unfollow Sheen on Twitter Friday (March 11). Why? Some of the Voice’s reasons include:

  • Repeated violence to women (he shot one, he threatened to behead another, and then there are the porn stars. Oh, the porn stars.)
  • Insulting Thomas Jefferson. Repeatedly.
  • Thinking about him and his porn star coterie is gross.

Can one day undo Sheen’s massive 2.5 million Twitter following? Guess we’ll find out on Friday. [Village Voice]

Kelly Preston, Sheen gunshot victim, chimes in

Long before Kelly Preston sealed herself to John Travolta, she dated Sheen. In fact, the two were engaged and that engagement ended with Sheen accidentally shooting Preston in the arm. We suppose this was back before Sheen was a winner. Because winners would never shoot someone unintentionally.

But, there are no lasting hard feelings, and Preston remembers Sheen as a a “good person.”

“We were together for a year, and he wasn’t drinking, and he wasn’t doing drugs,” Preston told People (March 9) at Wednesday’s opening of friend Kirstie Alley’s Organic Liaison store in Los Angeles. “And there’s a beautiful person in there. He really is a great man.”

Still, Preston hopes Sheen can find happiness and find his balance in a post “Two and a Half Men,” non-drug-fueled world.

“I think there’s a way back for anyone,” said Preston. “I always have hope, and my prayers are with him.” [People]
