Despite having modern technology – such as DNA tests and surveillance technology – at their disposal, it’s still not easy for law enforcement officials to catch killers as the criminals can elude even the most highly trained of police forces. This programme uses archival footage, dramatic re-enactments and interviews with key people involved in the cases to tell the stories of how some of Europe’s most notorious killers were captured. Criminal psychologist David Holmes and professor Kacper Gradon provide their insights into the profiled criminals, spme of whom are captured because of their own missteps, coincidences and pure luck.
