After a two week hiatus that nearly drove us crazy, "12 Monkeys" returns Monday (July 11) night with the penultimate episode of Season 2, and according to Amanda Schull and Aaron Stanford, the final episodes are not ones you want to miss.

At a special screening of the final two episodes of Season 2, Zap2it spoke with the "12 Monkeys" cast to find out what they could -- and what they absolutely couldn't -- reveal about what's in store for our favorite time-travelers.

On top of some pretty mind-blowing revelations about the Witness, Schull and Stanford teased big developments for Cassie (Amanda Schull) and Cole's (Aaron Stanford) relationship.

After a whole year of being on opposites sides of what seems like every battle and every decision, Cassie finally decided to return to 1957 with Cole to stop the last primary from being killed. That in and of itself is a pretty huge development, but where do they go from here?

"What I can say is that people are very curious to see what's going to become of 'Casserole,' and there's been a lot of simmering tension throughout both seasons," Stanford says. "Very, very important things concerning their relationship are going to happen in the next two episodes."

What those important things are, Stanford refused to say because SPOILERS, obviously. Amanda Schull, however, gave us a hopeful hint about the future of our beloved "Casserole" and their partnership.

"A lot happens between Cassie and Cole in the final two episodes," Schull says, "And I think a lot of things that have been brewing, shall we say, will transpire."

We could argue for hours that romantic things have been brewing between these two since the very first episode, but at this point we'd be happy just to see Cassie and Cole's easy teamwork and friendship recover from a pretty rough season. They're going to need it if they're going to find that last primary and save him/her from certain death.

Regardless of what transpires between them, Stanford was sure of one thing. "People will not be disappointed."

"12 Monkeys" airs Mondays at 9 p.m ET/PT on Syfy.
