The gap continues to widen between the U.S./Chinese fight at the top of the leaderboard and the rest of the field. Japan and France are the only other two countries with double-digit medals. Japan has won 13 and France has won 11.

Host country Great Britain has been on the leaderboard, but Wednesday (Aug. 1) the Brits took home their first gold medal, when Helen Glover and Heather Stanning (pictured above) won gold in the women’s pair rowing event. It’s not only Britain’s first gold of the games, but the first gold medal in women’s rowing in the country’s history.
