Putting together the In Memoriam montage for any awards show must be a tall order, because so many great artists are lost every year. The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards honored all the big names -- David Bowie, Ken Howard, Garry Marshall, Prince, Alan Rickman, Doris Roberts, Garry Shandling, Morley Safer, Gene WIlder and many, many more.

But as always, in an effort to include just as many behind-the-scenes contributors -- who are just as important to honor as the on-screen stars -- the montage invariably left out some of TV's memorable faces lost this past year.

Transgender actress Arquette died just a week ago at the age of 47 from complications from AIDS. She was known for her movie work, but she appeared in such TV shows as "Roseanne," "Friends" and "Xena: Warrior Princess." She was sister to acting siblings David, Patricia and Rosanna Arquette.

Larry Drake

This comedian and voice actor was best known on television as best known as Benny Stulwicz on "L.A. Law," for which he won back to back Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1988 and 1989. He also appeared on "Firefly," "Crossing Jordan" and "Boston Legal." Drake died in March at the age of 67.

Christina Grimmie

This former "Voice" contestant was shot and killed at a fan meet-and-greet in July. She finished in third place on Season 6 of the popular reality singing competition show, which won Outstanding Reality Competition Series at the 2016 Emmys.
