Melissa Benoist

The latest shot has been fired in the ongoing Dubsmash war between the casts of “Agents of SHIELD” and “Agent Carter.” The two shows are in round two of their three-round battle and “Agents of SHIELD” is pulling out the big guns, crossing unspeakable lines and enlisting … a DC Comics superhero.

Their latest lip sync video is set to War’s “Why Can’t We Be Friends” and enlists none other than “Supergirl” herself, Melissa Benoist — complete in a Supergirl T-shirt — to play along. DC and Marvel, mixing for all the world to see? How could the “Agent Carter” crew possibly top that?

It’s not like “Carter” didn’t give it a valiant effort on round two, though. Their video included Marvel legend Stan Lee, while James D’Arcy dressed in drag.

Thus far the war, which is being waged for charity, has raised over $60,000 for Stomp Out Bullying! and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

There’s still one round to go in the war and with the stakes continually on the rise, it’s going to be an important one to watch. In the meantime, check out the war’s CrowdRise page to donate and watch previous videos.
