“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” took a week off on Nov. 4 for ABC to air the special “Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop!” But when the series comes back from its one week hiatus, expect it to get fully into November sweeps mode.
ABC already released the synopsis for “The Writing on the Wall,” which airs Nov. 11. It very dramatically reveals “the team discovers murder victims with the alien glyphs on them that Coulson’s been etching. All of Coulson’s secrets and lies come to a head.”
That sounds like a pretty cataclysmic episode, as all sweeps episodes should be, but Marvel.com promises that “SHIELD” will stay just as dramatic in the following week’s episode, “The Things We Bury.”

The Nov. 18’s episode synopsis reads, “Coulson and team find themselves in an epic face-off against Hydra to uncover an ancient secret, while Ward kidnaps his brother, Senator Christian Ward, for a violent trip down memory lane.”
Not only is Coulson and gang trying to uncover an “ancient secret,” but Hayley Atwell’s Agent Peggy Carter will appear in “The Things We Bury” as well. The fact she’ll be in the episode seems like a great way to set up Atwell’s midseason Marvel show, “Agent Carter,”
don’t you think?
As for what will happen in Season 2, episode 9 which airs on Nov. 25, that’s Level 7 clearance. “Agents of SHIELD” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
UPDATE: ABC announced that “Agents of SHIELD’s” fall finale date will be Dec. 9. That’s only five new episodes to go until the show’s mid-season hiatus.
