“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” fans now can have an early tease of what’s in store for the upcoming Season 2 premiere.
The official synopsis of the episode reveals that Hayley Atwell will be making an appearance as Peggy Carter, while George Stephanopoulos will play himself.
The synopsis for “Shadows” reads: “Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources — but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will SHIELD ever be trusted again?”
Also reprising supporting roles in the episode are B.J. Britt as Agent Triplett, Adrian Pasdar as General Talbot and Patton Oswalt as Agent(s) Koenig. New characters being introduced include Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter and Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall.
Atwell stars in “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” which will air during “Agents of SHIELD’s” midseason hiatus. Hopefully her appearance in “Agents of SHIELD’s” premiere will set the basis of a crossover for the upcoming series.
“Agents of SHIELD” Season 2 premieres Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
