The Alfred Rosenheim Mansion, known to Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story” fans as the Murder House, was briefly available for rent on Airbnb. The first season of FX’s horror anthology series centered around the house along with the demons, ghost and ghouls that resided within it.
For the price of $1450 a night, fans had the chance to stay in the nine-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom mansion. Although the house was built more than a century ago, Airbnb users gave rave reviews to the Hollywood landmark.
“The house was fantastic: Full of history and carrying her scars and scratches from a long and eventful life with pride,” one renter posted on the website, according to Variety. “Beds, blankets and linens were top class, kitchen well equipped and our party of five made good use of it, both for relaxation and as an alternative meeting place with colleagues from Hollywood. If you are looking for something soulful, and do not expect everything to be brand new and shiny, this place is it.”
If the property were to be posted again, it will surely make the rental site a killing as horror fans take advantage of the opportunity to reenact drama from the first season of the Emmy-winning series. Fake blood is not included, however, the rental does have free wi-fi, cable and other amenities.
Although the listing has recently been taken down, fans who did not catch it in time can take a virtual tour of the popular residence below:
