Some of the better moments that transpire on “America’s Got Talent” happen when a contestant rises up above their nerves to hit a performance out of the park. That’s exactly what we got with 14-year-old Jayna Brown.

On Wednesday’s (July 20) episode, Brown hit the stage and was literally. Maybe it was her fandom for One Direction — Louis Tomlinson was a guest judge for the evening — or possibly, it was the simple fact that she was about to sing in a packed house. It takes a lot of guts to get up there to begin with. Thankfully, Brown showed America exactly what she was made of.

Brown belted out a beautiful rendition of Audra Day’s “Rise Up.” It’s not the easiest song to tackle, to begin with, but Brown does an impressive job at making the track her own. Tying the whole experience together, Tomlinson hits the Golden Buzzer, probably guaranteeing her One Direction fandom for life.
