“America’s Next Top Model” returns Wednesday (Aug. 5) to The CW, with another cycle of both men and women vying for the top prize.
At the 2015 TCA summer press tour, executive producer, host and former supermodel Tyra Banks tells Zap2it that “maybe the boys” are slightly stronger than the female contestants in Cycle 22.
She also says she loves “ANTM’s” legacy, but it may not be around much longer.
“‘America’s Next Top Model’ was the first fashion-based competition reality show and then we had these other copycats come and there’s been about 12 or 13 copycats in America. Every time there was a copycat we would try to get better and better,” says Banks, adding, “but we may be coming to an end soon. We shall see. It’s only so long that the show can last.”
“It’s nice to walk away from something before it walks away from you … leave when people remember you at your height.”
“America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 22 premieres Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. A gallery of the contestants is below.
