The Season 3 premiere of “Arrow” introduces a new dynamic in Team Arrow: Happiness. Things are going well, as you might surmise from the episode title, “The Calm.” And, as you might surmise from that title, there’s probably a storm brewing. Happy, crime-fighting fun times don’t make for a very complicated show.
In addition to the introduction of a very charming, funny Brandon Routh as DC Comics character Ray Palmer, who may or may not turn into his superhero Atom as Season 3 progresses, here’s what else you can expect from the episode:
Oliver and Felicity go on a date. Like, a date date. At a restaurant. With fancy clothes. And romantic intentions.
Oliver and Felicity kiss. You saw it in the preview, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased it, and you will see it in the 8 o’clock hour on The CW. You’re gonna love it.
Ray Palmer is causing some problems. The smooth-talking Palmer will pose a threat to Oliver in both his personal and professional lives. Could it have something to do with a very natural conenction he forges with Felicity in the opening moments of the show?
Diggle’s almost a dad. Lyla’s practically nine months along in her pregnancy, so it’s safe to assume we’ll be seeing a Baby Diggle very soon.
Sara is back. The Canary couldn’t stay away from her Team Arrow buddies for too long!
The Lances are crushing it in their careers. Hey, somebody’s got to have a real-life job, and both Laurel and Det. Lance (spoiler: if you couldn’t tell by the fact that he’s still filming the show, he survived!), who now has a new rank within Starling City’s police force, are doing well at work..
“Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
