Echo Kellum will play Mr. Terrific on 'Arrow'

After announcing that Season 4 will introduce Mr. Terrific, “Arrow” has found the actor who will play the superhero and his alter ego Curtis Holt.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Echo Kellum (“Ben and Kate”) has been cast in the role, which will be portrayed as a gay man on the series. Executive producer Greg Berlanti revealed that change at San Diego Comic-Con 2015.

Holt will be a recurring character on the upcoming season of the show, working for Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) at Palmer Technologies. The character description of Holt calls him a technological savant.

It’s unclear how many similarities “Arrow’s” Mr. Terrific will share with his comic book counterpart. In the comics his name is Michael Holt and he’s a genius, a martial arts black belt and an Olympic gold medalist in the decathlon.

“Arrow” has also cast Season 4 villain Anarky. “Bates Motel” alum Alexander Calvert will take on the role of Anarky/Lonnie Machin, “a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.” In the comics, the character tends to be a foil for Batman more often than not.

“Arrow” returns Wednesday, Oct. 7 on The CW.
