FOX's new game show "Boom!" is right out of the Nickelodeon handbook. The trivia series asks competitors a series of questions with big money on the line. However, if they get the answer wrong they'll end up covered in slime.

"Boom!" host Tom Papa stopped by Zap2it for a slime-free round of the game but promises big action when the series premieres Thursday (June 25).

"It's possibly the craziest show I've ever been involved in. It's a quiz show, you know, which is pretty normal on TV," he says. "The hook on this is as you're answering questions, there's this giant Wile E. Coyote-looking slime bombs in front of you with wires coming out. Each of the wires represents an answer to the question."

Cut the wrong wire and, pun intended, boom. "This thing explodes in your face and you're covered head-to-toe in Nickelodeon slime and it's kind of devastating," Papa says. "They're so close to winning all this money on national TV and now they're covered in brown gloop and they have to stand to the side and watch the rest of the show."

"As a comedian, you take these gigs thinking, 'Can I make this funny?' With people being covered in stuff, we have a good starting point," Papa, who's on tour currently, says.

"Of course, in the interest of TV, they don't clean you off for the rest of the game," he adds with a laugh.

"Boom!" premieres Thursday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
