Chicago Fire executive producer Danielle Gerber poses with new cast member Steven R. McQueen

Steven R. McQueen is suiting up for Season 4 of “Chicago Fire” according to a tweet from executive producer Danielle Gelber.

“Newest addition to #ChicagoFire. Welcome to the family! @McQueeninchains #season4,” she writes.

“The Vampire Diaries” alum will play Jimmy Borelli, a new firefighter that makes a dramatic entrance into Firehouse 51 on his first day of work, according to TVLine. Apparently Borelli’s theatrics are not going to sit well with Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker), setting him up for a rough start.

While McQueen is playing the new guy, he’ll have a familiar face in Taylor Kinney on set. Kinney also did his turn on “Diaries” as werewolf Mason Lockwood, who died in Season 3.

McQueen exited the show early on in Season 6, though his character Jeremy Gilbert is still alive and could make guest appearances.
