Chloe Grace Moretz just went down in history as the first American to guest star on South Korea’s “SNL” and speak only in Korean. While in South Korea to do promo for the video game “Sudden Attack,” Moretz did a little acting on the sketch comedy show during her trip.
If there was a language barrier, it was hard to tell. Moretz’s lines on the show appear to be seamless. The young starlet also shared a photo to fans on Instagram, confirming the news.
“Exciting to be the very First American on SNL Live and to speak in only Korean!!! #Korea #KimchiSlap#NOWOLSAEEE,” she captions a snippet of her performance.
The 19-year-old also thanked the country for its hospitality on her Twitter account.
“Thank you so much Korea for being so accommodating and amazing. I feel I’ve learned so much from your culture, you’ve really let me in — and I feel incredibly honored !!! Please know that !! I love you all so much and I truly hope to come back soon!!
#Korea #Seoul,” Moretz writes.”
Moretz can be seen wearing a traditional dress and sitting down for a meal during the scene. In character, she hilariously mistakes what’s being said at the table for something terrible and responds by spilling her drink or throwing a fit.
