Chris Jamison, one of Adam Levine’s fan-favorite finalists from Season 7 of “The Voice,” teamed up with Wiz Khalifa to perform “See You Again” from the “Furious 7” soundtrack. The pair took to the stage during Season 8’s Top 20 elimination round on Wednesday (April 8) night.

“See You Again,” which was originally performed by Khalifa and Charlie Puth, is a tribute to Paul Walker. The music video for the song features “Furious 7” footage of the late actor, who died in a car accident on Nov. 30, 2013.

Whether or not Jamison and Khalifa sang the song with Walker in mind, it’s difficult to listen to lyrics like “It’s been a long day without you my friend/ And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again” without thinking of the actor.

The emotion Khalifa and Jamison put behind their rendition made for a powerful opening for the show. Add on the electrifying high notes that the former “Voice” singer hit and the image of the backup singers stepping on stage in all white, and it truly was a chilling performance.
