Recently, fans of “Criminal Minds” were caught off-guard by the out-of-left-field departure of Shemar Moore’s beloved character Derek Morgan,. Now, a new trailer for the show gives us our first peek at a post-Moore “Minds” — and the familiar face that will help fill the void.

“Shut the front door!” screams Kirsten Vangsness’s Penelope Garcia in disbelief, a sentiment that you may very well be echoing right now.

In the preview clip, fans can see Brewster’s Emily Prentiss back on the case, thanks to a copycat killer. Standing once again alongside such longtime cast members as Joe Mantegna and Matthew Gray Gubler, Brewster’s character is determined to solve the crime. “So,” she’s seen saying. “Tell me what really happened to you.”

According to the official plot description, now-Interpol Agent Emily Prentiss enlists her old friends while tracking an international serial killer. Convinced that the next victim will be an American, they set out to stop the killer together — while simultaneously addressing the departure of Morgan.

The episode airs Wednesday, March 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Recently on Twitter, Paget Brewster commented on how unsettling it was to shoot the episode without Moore, calling the experience “sad but strange” while fondly throwing out some colorful nicknames they have for each other.
