Bindi Irwin at the AAC Awards

The first contestant for Season 21 of “Dancing With the Stars” has been revealed — say g’day to Bindi Irwin, “DWTS” fans.

“Good Morning America” revealed the first contestant Monday (Aug. 24), welcoming the 17-year-old Aussie animal lover to the show.

“I’m so excited! Thank you so much,” gushes Irwin. “I’m so honored to be a part of this new journey and new chapter in my life. I have to tell you, this is completely different to anything I have aever done in my life. I am used to wrangling crocodiles.”

Indeed, in her teens, Irwin has taken up the mantle of her late father, “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, who was killed after being pierced by a stingray when Bindi was just eight years old.

But while she may be right at home in the wild, Irwin confesses that she has “no dance experience.” She’s ready to throw herself into the show wholeheartedly and teases that she hopes her professional partner likes animals, because you never know what she’ll bring to rehearsals.

The “Dancing With the Stars” reveals will be happening all week on “Good Morning America.” The premiere is Monday, Sept. 14 on ABC.
